Rückzug der Standardformation des 1. TC Ludwigsburg aus dem Wettkampfbetrieb

Die Standardformation des 1. TC Ludwigsburg wird sich mit sofortiger Wirkung aus dem nationalen und internationalen Wettkampfbetrieb zurückziehen. Diese Entscheidung wurde unmittelbar nach der Weltmeisterschaft am vergangenen Wochenende gemeinsam von Mannschaft, Trainerteam und Vereinsmanagement getroffen.
Die Standardformation des 1. TC Ludwigsburg zählt seit Jahrzehnten zu den erfolgreichsten Teams im Formationstanzsport national wie international. Der bereits zum Saisonende geplante Rückzug des Trainerehepaars Norman und Dagmar Beck, die mit der Mannschaft unter anderem 12 Weltmeistertitel errungen haben, war ein natürlicher Meilenstein einer außergewöhnlichen Erfolgsgeschichte. Die nun getroffene Entscheidung zum sofortigen Rückzug steht jedoch nicht im Zusammenhang mit dem sportlichen Ergebnis der jüngsten Weltmeisterschaft. Im Gegenteil: Mannschaft und Verantwortliche sind mit der gezeigten Leistung und dem erzielten Resultat zufrieden und stolz.
Ausschlaggebend für den Schritt sind vielmehr Rahmenbedingungen, unter denen es nach Einschätzung von Team und Vereinsführung zunehmend schwierig wird, sportlich motiviert und motivierend zu agieren. Auf nationaler Ebene entsteht seit geraumer Zeit der Eindruck, dass der Verband sein „Zugpferd“ klar identifiziert hat. Dies zeigt sich aus Sicht des 1. TC Ludwigsburg unter anderem in der öffentlichen Berichterstattung sowie bei der Unterstützung von Turnierbewerbungen auf internationaler Ebene durch den Deutschen Tanzsportverband.
Einen vorläufigen Höhepunkt erreichte diese Entwicklung am vergangenen Wochenende, als während des Sportlereids und des weiteren Wettbewerbs nicht nur eine Duldung, sondern aus Sicht der Verantwortlichen eine aktive Förderung der Inszenierung des gegnerischen Teams beziehungsweise dessen Trainers wahrnehmbar war.
Unabhängig von der Bewertung der Sportlichkeit solcher Abläufe stellt dies für die Beteiligten des 1. TC Ludwigsburg ein klares Signal dar, dass Chancengleichheit und neutrale Rahmenbedingungen nicht mehr in ausreichendem Maße gegeben sind.
Unter diesen Voraussetzungen wird es immer schwerer, Tänzerinnen und Tänzer für einen hochprofessionellen Trainings- und Wettbewerbsablauf im Amateursport zu motivieren. Ebenso schwierig gestaltet sich die Gewinnung teilweise ehrenamtlicher Funktionsträgerinnen und Funktionsträger, die bereit sind, unter den beschriebenen Bedingungen die Verantwortung für ein Spitzen-Formationsteam zu übernehmen.
Der Rückzug der Standardformation des 1. TC Ludwigsburg ist kein Einzelfall. Ludwigsburg ist die dritte deutsche Erstligamannschaft, die sich innerhalb der vergangenen zwölf Monate aus dem Wettbewerb im Bereich der Standardformationen zurückzieht, darunter auch das international erfolgreiche Team aus Göttingen. Diese Entwicklung weist aus Sicht des Vereins deutlich auf ein grundlegendes, strukturelles Problem hin, das über den Einzelfall hinausgeht.
Besonderer Dank gilt dem Trainerehepaar Norman und Dagmar Beck, das in den vergangenen rund 40 Jahren mit der Standardformation des 1. TC Ludwigsburg 12 Weltmeistertitel, 13 Vize-Weltmeistertitel und zahlreiche weitere Podestplätze bei nationalen und internationalen Meisterschaften erreicht hat. Mit ihren Choreographien, darunter „Barcelona“, „Kontraste“ und „The Rise of the Black Swan“, haben sie Maßstäbe gesetzt und das Formationstanzen geprägt wie nur wenige andere.
Unser Dank gilt ebenso allen Tänzerinnen und Tänzern, Betreuerinnen und Betreuern sowie den vielen Engagierten, die sich über Jahrzehnte mit außerordentlichem Einsatz, Leidenschaft und Idealismus für den Sport, den Verein und „die Sache Formationstanz“ eingesetzt haben.
Die Ausrichtung des Bundesligaturniers im Januar in Ludwigsburg bleibt von dieser Entscheidung unberührt. Mannschaft und Trainer freuen sich darauf, als Zuschauer vor Ort zu sein, Freunde, Wegbegleiterinnen, Wegbegleiter und Fans zu treffen und in diesem Rahmen einen würdigen Abschied von der aktiven Wettkampfbühne zu nehmen.

Withdrawal of the 1. TC Ludwigsburg Standard Formation from Competitive Dancing

The Standard Formation team of 1. TC Ludwigsburg is withdrawing with immediate effect from national and international competitive dancing. This decision was taken directly after the World Championship last weekend, jointly by the team, the coaching staff and the club management.
For decades, the Standard Formation of 1. TC Ludwigsburg has been one of the most successful teams in formation dancing, both nationally and internationally. The withdrawal of the coaching couple Norman and Dagmar Beck at the end of the current season who have led the team to, among other achievements, 12 World Championship titles was intended to mark a natural milestone of an outstanding success story. However, the decision now taken to step back with immediate effect is not related to the sporting result of the most recent World Championship. On the contrary: the team and those responsible are proud of the performance and satisfied with the result achieved.
The decisive factors for this step are instead the overall conditions under which, in the view of the team and the club leadership, it has become increasingly difficult to act in a way that is both athletically motivated and motivating. At national level, there has for some time been a growing impression that the federation has clearly identified its preferred “flagship” team. From the perspective of 1. TC Ludwigsburg, this is reflected, among other things, in public reporting and in the support given to bids for hosting international competitions by German Dancesport Federation.
This development culminated last weekend when, during the athletes’ oath and the further course of the competition, there was not only a tolerance but, in the perception of those responsible, an active promotion of the staging and presentation of the opposing team and its coach. Regardless of the evaluation of the sporting fairness of such actions, this represents for the members of 1. TC Ludwigsburg a clear signal that equal opportunities and neutral conditions can no longer be assumed to exist to a sufficient degree.
Under these circumstances, it is increasingly difficult to motivate amateur dancers to commit to the demanding, highly professional training and competition schedule required at the top level. It is equally challenging to recruit partly voluntary officials who are prepared to take on responsibility for managing a top-tier formation team under the conditions described.
The withdrawal of the Standard Formation of 1. TC Ludwigsburg is not an isolated case. Ludwigsburg is the third German first-division team to withdraw from competition in the field of Standard formations within the past twelve months, including a former internationally successful team from Göttingen. From the club’s point of view, this development clearly points to a fundamental structural problem that goes far beyond a single team or club.
Special thanks go to the coaching couple Norman and Dagmar Beck who, over the past roughly 40 years, have led the Standard Formation of 1. TC Ludwigsburg to 12 World Championship titles, 13 World Championship silver medals and numerous additional podium finishes at national and international championships. With their choreographies including “Barcelona”, “Kontraste” and “The Rise of the Black Swan” they have set standards and helped shape the discipline of formation dancing in a way that very few others have.
Our gratitude also goes to all dancers, support staff and the many committed individuals who, over decades, have devoted extraordinary dedication, passion and idealism to the sport, the club and the cause of formation dancing.
The hosting of the Bundesliga tournament in January in Ludwigsburg is unaffected by this decision. The team and the coaches are very much looking forward to being present as spectators, meeting friends, companions and fans, and taking the opportunity to say a dignified farewell to the competitive stage.
